General Responsibilities:
Under the direction of a higher engineer, is responsible for development and problem resolution for new product designs on assigned projects.

Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is the specification, design, and testing of high pressure direct gasoline fuel injection systems (specifically injector) used in automotive powertrain applications. Major responsibilities include system and component testing, system design and design documentation.

This position is required to work directly with customer engineers on company products. This position is also responsible for working with customer engineers to ensure that program goals are met, schedules are maintained, and problems encountered during the development process are satisfactorily resolved.

The individual must demonstrate the ability to organize, add value to and communicate information on a global basis to suppliers, customers and other divisions alike. That information may include but not be limited to design information such as a DFMEA, DVP&R, technical specifications or drawings.

Additionally, this position is required to work with other project team members and engineers to report on and resolve issues related to design.

This position may be required to periodically travel both domestically and internationally and to accompany customers on vehicle development test trips as a support to the company’s product.

Qualifications

  • Possess a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering as a minimum.
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years applicable product experience and minimum of (5) years in the automotive engineering field.
  • Have experience with the fundamentals of fuel delivery system design.
  • Have experience in DFMEA, DVP&R and APQP
  • Be familiar with automotive component and engine test procedures, life cycle testing and be generally knowledgeable in the powertrain development process.
  • Have experience with preparing design specifications, design documentation and test procedures.
  • Have experience interfacing with customers.
  • Ability to learn quickly and support a variety of products is a plus.
  • Ability with 3D CAD such as CATIA, NX or SolidWorks is a plus.

Additionally, the ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools and Lotus Notes are also required.
