General Responsibilities:
Under the direction of Design Engineering Management in one or more product groups, the primary responsibility of this position is to perform engineering duties supporting a small engineering project, parts of larger projects or a combination of both. Only minimal interface with external customers is expected.

Job Responsibilities:
The general responsibility of this position is to support the activities of the design engineering groups and their responsibilities by performing combinations of the following potential activities relating to Water Pump, Oil pump, Balancer, Cam Phaser, Electronic Throttle and DI fuel system product lines:

  • Analyze and summarize trends in large data sets using statistical principles and applicable software (Minitab).
  • Create and organize 3D model structures. Develop drawings applying ISO and ASME based dimensioning and GD&T.
  • Develop drawing tracking spreadsheets.
  • Design test fixtures and jigs for developmental or validation testing
  • Assist in defining test requests to the lab group for developmental testing of assemblies on dyno engines or spin rig tests.
  • Work with test engineers and technicians to collect and summarize development data.


  • Attained sophomore level credit hours or more towards Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Suitable combination of experience and education in product design and testing.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and organizational skills
  • Fundamental SolidWorks, CATIA or NX CAD drawing and modelling skills
  • Able to present information confidently to technical and management staff
  • Positive attitude

  • Tolerance stack up methods
  • Statistical methods/analysis of variation
  • Fundamental understanding of common production technologies such as machining, casting, stamping, molding as well as assembly and test automation.
